This course focuses on the essential skills every photographer needs, without overwhelming technical language or assumptions about prior experience. Students will learn how their camera works, how to control exposure, and how to make intentional creative choices using light, composition, and focus. Through guided, in-person instruction, you’ll practice shooting in real studio environments, ask questions in real time, and learn by doing—not guessing. Photo 101 also introduces basic workflow habits, camera handling, and visual storytelling to help you move beyond “auto” mode and start creating images with purpose.
